Scar Revision

Many people are left with scars from burns, acne, injuries or trauma and from previous surgeries, such as caesarean section. Sometimes an unsightly scar can be revised for a more pleasing aesthetic result. A number of different plastic surgery techniques can be used to revise old scars and Dr. Tregaskiss will assess your individual needs and devise a plan that will produce optimal results for you.

Mole Removal

Mole removal is one of the most common minor cosmetic procedures performed. Moles can be bothersome, sometimes bleeding when knocked, or leading an individual to feel that their mole is unsightly. Moles can under some circumstances be treated with lasers or with ‘shaving’ to avoid scarring. Ultimately however, they tend to recur without complete surgical excision.

When removing a mole, expert planning and execution is required to minimize scarring. As a Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Tregaskiss is specifically trained in the art and science of scar limitation, to ensure you end up with the best possible scar under your specific circumstances.

As a precaution all moles, even those that appear completely benign are sent for histopathological analysis to ensure with 100% satisfaction that they are non-cancerous.

Cyst and Lipoma Removal

A lipoma is a benign collection of firm and sometimes tender fatty tissue under the skin. A cyst is a sac-like collection trapped underneath the skin. These ‘lumps and bumps’ can be surgically removed for symptom relief, to provide peace of mind or to improve cosmesis. Typically, lipomas and cysts can be removed under local anesthetic and do not require a general anesthestic. This means it is a faster procedure with a quicker recovery for you.
