Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck)
A flat and toned stomach is something often desired, and in many cases despite a healthy lifestyle, good nutrition and exercise it can evade us. Many factors can contribute to this problem including genetics, age, weight changes, previous surgery, and most commonly, pregnancy. These factors can lead to excess fat, loose skin, stretch marks and a condition called ‘divarication of the recti’, characterized by poor abdominal muscle tone and posture.
An abdominoplasty procedure removes fat and excess skin, and in most cases will also tighten the abdominal muscles that have been pulled apart, leading to a flatter, firmer stomach and a more shapely body. As well as looking better, many patients report improved core strength and reduced back pain after an abdominoplasty.
It’s important to appreciate that an abdominoplasty is not designed as a weight-loss procedure. Significant fluctuations in weight after surgery can diminish the results, and women considering further pregnancies are advised to postpone having this procedure.
This procedure is often performed in combination with liposuction to the abdomen or surrounding areas, but can also be combined with other procedures such as breast reduction, lift or augmentation.

Brachioplasty (Arm Lift)
The skin on our limbs can be affected by the same aging process as the skin elsewhere on our bodies such as the face, and these can sometimes lead to the upper arm appearing loose or dropping. Additionally, sun exposure, smoking, fluctuations in weight and genetic factors can also contribute to the skin being less elastic exacerbating this problem. While exercise can strengthen and tone the muscles of the upper arm, it can do little to solve the problem of loose skin.
A brachioplasty, or arm lift, is a procedure that can re-shape the upper arm by removing excess fat and skin resulting in more defined contours and a youthful appearance to your arms.
Liposuction can be a great option to help reshape specific targeted areas of your body where persistent fatty tissue accumulates. Liposuction is not a substitute for loosing weight but can aid those stubborn areas that are resistant to weight-loss efforts. The most common areas treated by liposuction are stomach, hips, thighs, buttocks and upper arms, however, Dr. Tregaskiss will listen to your concerns and advise on the best treatment options. Often liposuction can be performed alongside other procedures such as abdominoplasty (tummy-tuck), face and neck lift, breast reduction and gynecomastia (male breast reduction).

A thighplasty (or thigh lift) is a procedure that tightens the skin and removes excess fat to produce slim and contoured thighs that are in proportion to the rest of your body. This procedure is of most benefit to individuals who have lost significant amounts of weight and who are left with sagging skin that has lost its elasticity. Thighplasty achieves the best results when performed on those who are close to their ideal weight but who are unhappy with the aesthetic appearance of their legs. Thighplasty can produce dramatic results in these circumstances not only improving the appearance but alsoenabling greater ease of movement by reducing chafing.
A thighplasty typically focuses on removing excess skin on the inner thighs (hiding the scars in the inside of the thigh or groin). The remainder of the thighs can if necessary be treated with liposuction. Dr. Tregaskiss will work with you during your consultation to develop a surgical plan that meets your individual needs.
